I have never done yoga before, can I do it?

Yoga is accessible to almost anyone! If you have never done it before you probably have more to gain!

But I’m not flexible! Can I do Yoga?

It’s a common question that comes up, it’s exactly why it’s great to try it, practicing Yoga will get you more flexible but it only works if you turn up!

How much is a class?

All classes are £5.

Do I need to bring anything?

Only an open mind! We supply mats, blocks, straps and any props to get you started. Bring your own mat if you have one by all means. Also, a drink as some of the sessions can get a little warm! Possibly a small towel too. We do make sure our mats are cleaned after use.

Do I need to book?

What do I wear?

Comfortable flexible clothing. Ladies usually wear leggings and a stretchy top. Men usually wear shorts and t-shirts. It’s advisable to not wear socks unless they are proper Yoga socks with a little grip on the bottom.

I struggle with Anxiety will I be ok?

Another question we get is some people find it hard to integrate. We try to make every effort to make sure everyone feels welcome and keep the room to a low light level, we have plenty of space between mats and have a long room to space people out if they wish. It’s a community hall where lots of people have made new friends whilst practicing together.

Should I eat before a practice?

Yoga requires a lot of twisting, compression of the body also sometimes going upside down! So it’s best not to eat a large meal for 2-3 hours before a class. If you must, then something small is best. It’s wise to keep the body hydrated as this helps with flexibility.

Arrival times?

If you haven’t been before, it’s recommended that you arrive10-15 mins early so that you can fill in a new student form and a brief quiet chat with the instructor about any issues or injuries that might restrick your class.

How often should I practice?

Yoga is best practiced at least 2-3 times a week to see any real benefit, however you can also gain benefits from just a single session per week!

Is it Hot Yoga?

It’s not a hot yoga studio in terms of 30-40 degree heat. Our calm sessions will be a comfortable 24 celcius while the flow classes will be 20 celcius.
