“The candlelit Yin is so relaxing in a calm environment. After a stressful day. It’s lovely to unwind. Love this class.”

“Yin and yang are descriptive terms that are used to describe all levels of phenomena. Yin is the stable, unmoving, hidden aspect of an object. Yang is the changing, moving, revealing aspect of an object.” Paul Grilley
Yin Yoga works on the connective tissues: bones, skin, ligaments, tendons, and fascia. It focuses on longer holds than traditional Hatha postures. it plays around with our sympathetic nervous system. It is mainly mat based and postures can last anything from 90 seconds to 5 minutes. This gives us the opportunity to fully relax into the posture and feel the benefits.
Props will be provided in this session to aid in the practice. Props can be anything from blocks, straps to blankets for Savasana.
Yin yoga is a gateway to meditation, our 60-minute class is designed to focus the attention on the breath for a deep relaxation in Savasana.
The main benefits of Yin Yoga are:
- Calms and balances the mind and body.
- Reduces stress and anxiety.
- Increases circulation.
- Improves flexibility.
- Releases fascia and improves joint mobility.
- Balances the internal organs and improves the flow of chi or prana.
